Unit Manager for Cable Project Management

About the position

The purpose of the Line Projects department is to lead and manage line and cable projects from order to completed facility. The Cable Project Management unit is responsible for the implementation of investment and reinvestment projects concerning land and submarine cables, as well as tunnel cables. The unit also contributes project management expertise in the investigation phase concerning cable projects.

This means that the unit is responsible for the entire flow from the strategic decision: design, procurement, execution of contracts, and construction all the way to completion with commissioning and handover to management. The unit also supports with project management expertise in investigation phases.

As a unit manager, you are responsible for leading and distributing the unit's work, ensuring a good and developing work environment for employees, and developing collaboration with other parts of Svenska kraftnät. In this role, you are responsible for and drive business development with a focus on, among other things, lead time reduction, safe workplaces, and process development. The employees consist of chief project managers, project managers, sub-project managers, project engineers, and construction managers. Together, we assist with our respective roles in Svenska kraftnät's cable projects.

As a unit manager for Cable Project Management, you should have an engineering degree in, for example, civil engineering/road and water/construction, electrical power/energy technology, mechanical engineering, or equivalent competence acquired in another way.

Other requirements:

• Management experience with personnel and results responsibility.
• Competence in and work experience in change management.
• Experience leading project managers.
• Experience and a high understanding of complex infrastructure projects or projects in related industries.
• You are communicative and express yourself well in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

Desirable qualifications:

• Experience in remote leadership.
• Leadership training.
• Experience with cable technology issues.
• Experience in driving construction projects in the contracting phase.
• Knowledge of contract law (AB, ABT) and/or AMA.

• The position is located at one of our offices in Sundbyberg/Stockholm or Västerås.
• Possibility of remote work up to 50%
• Travel is required for this position.
